Bass Pro Shops Vendor Marketing Specialist in Springfield, Missouri

Position summary: The Vendor Marketing Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and executing strategic marketing plans, within budget and on time, in order to support business growth objectives for outside vendor brands.


Vendor Marketing Program

  • Responsible for developing and executing annual vendor marketing plans, managing coop budgets, and ensure campaigns are delivered on time.

  • Manage vendor partner digital presence within the internal and external eco system: SEM, programmatic, email, social, etc.

  • Communicate marketing strategies and results in collaboration with stakeholders from merchandising, marketing and participating vendors.

  • Track vendor marketing programs and adjust channel strategies accordingly.

  • Work closely with merchants and partner vendors to support ongoing priorities, including product launch and communications.

Vendor Management

  • Manage vendor relationships to enhance sales goals through the use of product placement, marketing communications, and instore events.

External and Internal Mass Communication

  • Support merchants and partner vendors with consistent articulation of value proposition, brand positioning and technology to all stakeholders, both internal and external for assigned projects. This marketing communications and public relations function includes both the development of relevant, targeted and error free copy, as well as the creation of appropriate support across all media platforms, including but not limited to print, email, web, blogs, social media, and video

Product Launches

  • Collaborate with merchants and partner vendors to ensure successful execution of new product launches assigned within the channel. Elements include creation of channel launch plan, development of a communications strategy, and marketing/ sales tools. Work closely with all internal stakeholders, marketing director, and project team members in the timely execution of the launch plan.


  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the development, execution and management of marketing communications projects and programs.

  • Able to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, with a passion for accuracy.

  • Well-developed interpersonal and organizational skills, detail-oriented, highly motivated and self-starter.

  • Able to work well independently and in a team environment, as well as interact with individuals at all levels within the organization.

  • Able to demonstrate consistent ability to meet objectives on time and within budget.

  • Proven ability to create comprehensive programs and campaigns for both direct and indirect channels.

  • Resourcefulness in solving problems.

  • Strong work ethic, excellent people skills, and a positive, upbeat and enthusiastic attitude.

  • Other duties as required.


  • Education/Training: BA/BS degree in journalism, marketing, communications or a related field is required.

  • Experience: 5 years marketing communications experience required, with 2-3 years of channel management desired.

  • Knowledge/Skills: Project management, consumer communication management, and budget management

  • Travel Requirements: Periodic travel as required
