Position Summary: To clean all assigned areas in accordance with Big Cedar Lodge procedures and standards.

Essential Functions:

  • Check daily for light bulbs that have gone out and replace when possible, track lighting and case lighting.

  • Check theater room, seats, lighting, video loop.

  • Cleanliness of floors, concrete, wood, and carpet

  • Cleanliness of glass cases. Follow predetermined cleaning schedule.

  • Dusting and cleaning of shelves in cases.

  • Dusting and cleaning of tops of cases.

  • Stairs to Museum – vacuumed.

  • Elevator cleanliness and wood polished/scratches covered.

  • Ensure filters in units are changed at least every 2 months.

  • Maintain an ongoing relationship with Engineering for help when needed

  • Work with Security Team to voice any concerns or observations regarding the guests or artifacts

  • Ensure the cleanliness of Men’s and Ladies restrooms

  • Dusting of individual statues throughout Museum.

  • Maintain wheelchair integrity.

  • Be alert and aware of need for protection of Museum artifacts.

  • Visual awareness of potential lighting opportunities of artifacts.

  • Attend to and answer guests’ questions about Museum and property

  • Ensure audio with displays are in working order

  • Be aware of potential safety and security problems with Management

  • Commit to ensuring an exceptional guest experience

  • Clean public spaces as outlined in the manual and/or as directed by the Manager of Attractions.

  • Maintain an awareness of all safety procedures and guidelines as they relate to guests and associates.

  • Be knowledgeable of cleaning products, their proper uses and necessary personal protective equipment to perform the tasks with safety awareness in mind.

  • Provide professional, friendly service to all guests.

  • Be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Candidate Profile:

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Familiarity with computer software word processing and database and spreadsheet (especially Excel) is essential.

  • A basic knowledge of Housekeeping department duties

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions,

short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement,volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Other Skills and Abilities: The ability to work well with a team, to prioritize, a sense of urgency and a real concern for guest satisfaction. Must be detailed oriented. Need strong clerical, organizational and communication skills.
